Why does Internet Explorer (IE) always tell me that it has blocked a pop up when using Growing Tales? I have to click the Information bar to do what I wanted to do.

This situation occurs when you are running Windows XP and have installed Service Pack 2 (SP2). To allow Growing Tales to run without this message you can do the following:

  1. Open the IE menu Tools+Internet Options+Advanced tab
  2. Scroll down to the Security section.
  3. Make sure that "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" is checked. The one where the big yellow arrow is pointing.

How many children can I enter into Growing Tales?

There is no limit on the number of children you can enter in Growing Tales.

I want to enter a new Milestone, but I don’t see the category I want to use.

Use setup to create your own category. You can go directly to setup from the page you are on by clicking the yellow button with the “swirl” on it, or you can click the “setup” icon at the top of the page you are on.

Do I need to backup my Growing Tales information?

Yes, you should backup your Growing Tales information, just as you would any other important information on your personal computer. See “Creating a Backup of your Growing Tales information” in the online help delivered with Growing Tales, to learn how to backup your Growing Tales information.

One of my photos is no longer showing up in Growing Tales. What could be wrong?

If you move one of your photos to another location or directory on your personal computer, you will need to re-establish the reference to the photo. See “About photos, sounds & videos in Growing Tales” in the online help delivered with Growing Tales for more information.

When I try to create an attachment in Print & Email, I am getting the message “You must install a printer before you print”. How do I resolve this issue?

If you do not have a printer installed with your computer, you will need to go to Control Panel/Printers and setup any printer even though you don’t have one connected to your computer.

If I delete a photo from Growing Tales, will it delete it from my personal computer?

No. Growing Tales establishes a link or reference to your photos. So, deleting it from Growing Tales will only remove the link to your photo. It will not delete it from your personal computer.
